RAF Herc Crash

Postby Anark » Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:41 am

"An RAF Hercules transport plane has been destroyed in southern Iraq after it was damaged in an "incident" on landing, the Ministry of Defence said.

Two people suffered minor injuries in Monday's incident, after which the C130 plane was destroyed because of the potential risk involved in recovery. "

I think crash is a bit of a strong word - a landing "incident" (could have been anything - a vehicle could have driven into it once it had stopped etc), but in an area too unsafe to allow enough security to effect repair. Not the first time in the last 12 months, and not the last. Maybe our valiant leaders may start putting a bit more tax payers money towards the AT fleet...
