The coolest thing...

Postby Ravang » Sat Jan 13, 2007 4:19 pm

The coolest thing happened to me today it was a Free Fly day at our local Airport, and free donut day too and there was a Cessna C150 there so I said to my self I've got to ride in that, and I got to but the best part was the pilot asked if I have flow on Flight Sim before and I told him I had then he told me that we were going to taxi out to RWY 24 and takeoff climb to 2000'ft and turn to heading 180 and I got to taxi a little, takeoff, fly, and get 2 miles before landing before he took back the controls. And I have never had a second of flight training ever. ;D ;D ;D 8-)

Well... you have now! ;D

Glad you enjoyed making the acquaintance of the C150. It's an excellent primary trainer.
How did you do taxiing? ;)

Pretty good because, I use rudder peddles with FS, but went the pilot was showing me how to taxi he was doing 40mph! I thought the taxi speed was no faster than a brisk walk :D But I got invited back to his home airport which is 35miles up the road to go flying some time. :D Can't wait!!! But flying the real thing beats the crap out of flying on a sim ;D

I really doubt he was doing 40... chances are good the needle on the ASI doesn't move below that speed.
You could get airborne (sort of) in a 150 at 40 mph. I often taxi a bit faster than a brisk walk, but 40 mph? Uh, no...

In any case... yes, there ain't nothing like the real thing! Enjoy your next flight and don't forget the pictures! ;D
