the bristol contingent started with myself and then birdman, both of us from Keynsham. I have since had the common sense to leave, and Birdman seems to have dissapeared, which in Bristol means he's probably never to be heard from again. :-X :D

LOL! Know exactly what ure on about ;D ;D ;D

yes, but that would upset the Brummies who are going there on holiday. They'd much rather look at the muddy water than a 10 foot wall ;D

It is not generally known that Wales is used as a practice area for low flying Military jets to terrify the cows, sheep and horses, and annoy their keepers....

I am very concerned about the animals... :'(...!

I was a few miles away too. Didn't see anything other than what was on the news. Early indications point to possible bird strike according to local news.

I would be surprised if a bird strike brought a Peggy down though it is not an impossibility. In a previous life I worked on Harriers as an engine tech for just short of 10 years. They are a very robust engine. We had more birdstrikes than just about any other "flightline" problem. A check of the fan and a boroscope and up it went again. I would be more inclined to look towards engine failure. There are certian parts of the Pegasus that are subject to SI's (servicing instructions) that must be carried out at "X" amount of flight hours. Some are very critical, one I can think of being super critical, however I am now 8 years out of the loop, so things may have changed................... ;)

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Local news now saying that the pilot may have been practicing a landing (??) or performing a mini show for Kidlington airport. The media really know how to put people in a bad light.
