"Together with Mr Brown were the heads of some of the 16 airlines that have already ordered the 240ft-long aircraft, which will go into passenger service in December this year."
240ft! Surely the plane is longer than that! Maybe they mean 240m?
I can't wait till one of these behemoths flies into Philly, if they ever do.

240ft = 73m, so about 10ft longer than the 747... :)

Not the smoothest landing and approach but good stuff all the same, it was windy.

Just can't get the staff nowadays... 8) ;D

Ummm..  not only was that a "rough" landing.. the nose wheel made contact BEFORE the right mains..

Just how windy was it  ?

You've either misread the statement or need to closely watch the video again.
He is right, the left main gear touches down, then the nose gear, and finally the right side main gear touches down. Most likely a result of a cross wind.

This one..  Watch the nose-wheel tire smoke.. THEN you see right main smoke..

That link definitely has a better video quality, and yes I can now see that the nose does touch before the right main gear.

I saw the landing video on CNN and the anchor said it was a bad landing. I bet the anchor was paid by Boeing to say that!

There was a crosswind for the love of god!!!

It wasn't a really good landing, but neither was it a disaster. After all the aircraft is in one piece and everyone's happy  :)
But what you saw might've been caused by a high autobrake selection which really plants the nosewheel onto the runway, just speculation from my part.
