Commercial Airline Pilot information needed...

Postby Triple_7 » Mon May 01, 2006 10:21 pm

Still working on a presentation for english class.  Videos and most of the resorces have been found at last.  But now I'm due to be the final presentation on the 11th.  Being the final one of the year my teacher expects it to be the best, especialy since I had to beg for an extension to keep from going tomorrow :-X

One requirement I forgot about though.  I need to interview a real pilot or preffered 2.  Really need commercial but I know a few of you at least have a private licence or better.  Could use some information.  Not a whole lot but a commercial airline pilot would be great.  Most concerns salary, different types of licences and their requirements, and how long it takes to get different ratings on aircraft.  Also some physical requirements such as eye sight on the 20/20 scale.

Also any resorces as far as salary charts, training facilities (such as Delta Connection Academy) I know most airlines go on a 10 year salary increase.  But need at least one site that can accualy prove this...preffer Delta since thats the academy I'm looking into.

And last but not least.  What is a good program to capture video in FS2002...I think I've heard of Fraps before.  Need at least a 20 FPS record rate.  Using a friends computer for this part though.

All this information is needed BEFORE the weekend...and the FS video record program ASAP.  I dont have much time left to finalize all information and get the video timings down before next Thursday :-X  In final format I and the video have run smoothly in unison and hope like hell I don't trip up :-[

Any help would be greatly appricated...My final grade depends on this presentation ;)  1/3 of my grade :o

Anything that will include monthly and yearly salary, required licences starting at private on up to small regional aircraft, garenteed working hours per week/month (last I saw was I think Continental at 76 hours a month)

Physical requirements, eye sight on the 20/20 scale, really could use an accual chart on salary though from the bottom up....Need a list of accual airline academies around the US that will take anyone in with or without previous training.   Need websites for them if available.

Rank structure in the real world.  I know my virtual is:

Second Officer, Junior First Officer, First Officer, Captain, Senior Captain

Dont know if its accurate or not.

For now thats about all I can think of that I cant seem to find ;)  Not going to worry about interviews.  The questions I need from them I answered and can just make up a name...not like the teacher will know the difference :P
