anyone stop to think that the aircraft photo of the SU-27 appears to have no motion blur in the foreground OR background... and that the landing gear and doors have been edited out?

just a thought  ::)

Photographer of second shot" 597 She is flown by Russian Gromov Flight Research Institute`s senior test pilot, Kvochur, only 2 meters above ground,without extending landing gears! And notice that her refuelling probe is not retracted.Photo taken at oppisite side of the runway where my friend Xu Zheng took his shot".

That can simply because the photographer was using a very high shutter speed, I know I've done that before and gotten the 'frozen' effect (which isn't really what you want for a good takeoff photo so this photo isn't partcularly good really, the other one from the other side is better :P ;)).

To be totally fair guys, you have to admit the pic looks like an edit.  We know of course that it's real, but it could've just as easily been an edit. ;)

This is a nice video. Apologies for the bad language, but he is low (and it isn't the Alain de Cadenet Spitfire clip...) ;)

About the picture:
In europe they aren't allowed to do this after the Rammstein crash (and the one in Ukraine).
In Russia... this makes money, so as long as they are on their home ground or in places where they aren't that safety conscious

About the Cobra...
Actually they have the 'normal' cobra, which is just the dynamic brake manoever. Forward speed gets as low as 40Kmh.
You have Kulbit (which all of them can do, but the TVCs are better at it)
And the third one is the 'bell' (vertical extended cobra)

COOL VIDEO! but I think other planes can do the cobra, just not as well.  I saw on TV a guy do it in an extra.

Vertical pull champion is Su-31... best thrust-to-weight ratio of any aerobatic plane in the market (even custom built ones). 450Hp fuel injected, can hang stationary on its prop.
For jet planes, only MiG-29 and Flanker variants can do that. The rest gets compressor stalls
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

MiG-29 and Su-27 are the same basic TsAGI design... Add to that engines that are built for frontline abuse (and not for hangar pampering like the F-15) and you can do all kind of high intake AOA stunts
