good, the place is horrible. Its dark cramped and check in area is awfully small and has far to low a ceiling.

Making money and being the best in business is a lot more important than taking pride in it's past (I'm talking in general terms, not T2) and being friendly towards aviation commuity (somewhat OT there I know) in this day and age. My local airport (EGNT) suffers as a result of the main men in charge having this attitude, thanks to them my last visit to an airport only 10 miles away is now almost a year ago.

Ah well. Nothing lasts for ever. I have fond memories of days spent spotting on the top of the then brand new Queen's building. That was in the days of real airliners.

Wow, thats news to me, even my mate who works there didn't tell me that one LOL

I'd be a little more interested in civil aviation if they all were still like that!

Pretty much sums up my feelings on airliners as well. Older or Bigger types (747s DC8s etc) are of interest but the now common stuff like B737s holds no interest to me whatsoever. I just wish EGNT were a little less strict with people wanting to photograph outside (and that some interesting types would actually come here instead of just darn Easyjets, Ba and RyanAir and other typical regional types!).

They aren't old! Comets, and 707s and Connies and DC-6's are old! Well, I suppose a DC-8 qualifies too...

Brittannias too, and Viscounts and Vanguards and Tridents and VC-10s! That's what you need...
