p39 aerocobra

Back last yaer i got to sit in a p39 aerocobra. then somebody told me that there are only 3 left, so i am wondering if i am luck or not

Very lucky indeed Dan! Where was it? The only one I've seen in person is the one at Duxford.

I do believe I've seen one in person when I was a wee lad.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were only three left. After we gave the leftovers to the Russians, who knows? :P ;D

I believe 3 are still airworthy. There are known to be around 33 P-39s and 3 P-400 still in existance. One was only recently recovered from a Russian lake... :)

i voulenter at an aircraft restoratin musem just north of minneapolis. It stopped over for the night (I think it was going to oshkosh) and he asked if i wanted to sit in it. man was it cool, kinda wierd that the driveshaft goes right under the seat. unfortunatly no pics(i didnt get the memo that it was comming over night :'() .
