Registration numbers

Postby Poseidon » Thu Dec 29, 2005 4:53 am

I have a question regarding reistration number. How is the registration code of aircrafts provided in a multinational/multihub airline? Let's consider, as an example an British airline based in Heathrow having also a second hub somewhere in France. Obviously the aircrafts based at Heathrow will have British number but what about those in France?

depends on where the plane was registered. Almost certainly Britain in your example.

Aeroflot and Uzbekistan airlines fly with VP regs (Uzbekistan is UK-xxxxx and Aeroflot is RA-xxxx), Transaero with EI-xxx.
Just depends on the lease terms (keep leaser reg, as Aeroflot dow with their boeings or put on your own, as Iberia did with some of their B743) and financial stuff (Ireland has quite low taxes and so on for the aviation industry, that's why transaero has all their stuff registered there)
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur
