a318 cargo door open?

Postby jrpilot » Tue Dec 27, 2005 3:23 pm

On MSNBC, a F9 (Frontier Airlines) A318 is bruning fuel to make a landing at John Wayne airport in Southern California.  I thought the pilots would look over this before takeoff?

But someone pilot from CNBC said it could be tha it opened a little in flight.  Good coverage saw a 737-800 land and a United 757-200

Sorry Jr, I have no idea what you're looking for here.  Could you clarify?

Beef, read the frigging subject, or do you want me to translate for you?
Ok, A318 has a cargo door open, and is currently burning off fuel so it can land without exceeding MLW.

Now, that wasn't hard, was it?  ::)

Actually latest report is, its just a warning light and the door isn't open. Generally like all these cases, a link would be handy if there is one. If not oh well :)
Its now going to land at LAX apparently, if it hasn't already.

Much ado about nothing, or so it seems...

If the ECAM gives a warning memo and it's a false one...maybe one of the SDAC's (system data acquisition concentrator) circuit breaker has been tripped.
Funny thing is, some of those CB's arent monitored by the ECAM, no warning will therefore be given that the CB is tripped.

The Flight Warning Computer is programmed after logic, it cant think or use sound judgment. If the door open warning is generated because of a tripped CB, it will still be shown on the ECAM.

Nice to see you too Nexus ;D

The topic wasn't exactly clear, because the subject was a question but the post seemed to be leading a discussion/current event thread.  Hence, the disconnect.  I'm sure it was just a minor overlook by jr.
