It's interesting that you pose the Ta-154 - it had the potential, but the materials available (woods and adhesives) at the time weren't of good quality to support the production.

As to the Me-410, It was also a potentially good design, but in the end, not good enough.

As far as twin engined fighter-bombers, don't forget the Me-262, Gloster Meteor ....

I love the '38, but as a Canadian I have an attachment to anything called Pfiel (Arrow). :)
