Virgin Pacific?

Postby born_2_fly » Sun Oct 16, 2005 10:40 am

Hiya guys

I was just thinking, seeing and Virgin has a strong presence in the USA and also a (growing) presence in Australia, would it make sense for them to compete in the trans-Pacific market? Maybe not as a wholly owned company but maybe then can help to set it up and take a controlling stake in the Company? (Like Virgin blue)
Couple of 747's maybe?
Just a thought

Cheers

I'm not 100% certain but i believe there is an open skies rule that prevents it happening.

Thanks CraigL
But surely if say an Australian investor/investment company took a 51% steak in the company then they could get it on 5th freedom traffic rights? I could understand if the company was controlled by a forgien company, but it it was Austrailian contolled?
