Well i went to see the RAF careers people today and i gave them a long, long, story, about that fact that i wanted to be a pilot BUT i had hayfever.
Sooooo,
They asked me if the hayfever caused me to cough or wheeze in any way, i replied.."No"
They said do you take any prescribed medication for you hayfever, i replied.."No"
They enquired how bad my hayfever was at the height of summer, i replied.."Very mild. So mild i dont take any medication."
They said you can still become a fast jet pilot, i replied.."Yay!" Lol
Great big thanks to everyone trying to help me out with my hayfever problem!
Lol! I was just about to post words to that effect. The only thing I could find about hayfever in the medical part of the intranet site was with reference to using anti-hystamines (dodgy spelling!), and it specifically mentioned the scenario of aircrew having using them for hayfever - so obviously its not a major problem.
Nice one EGNX (funny name that? It not the one on your birth certificate is it?

). Keep us posted, and if you have any RAF related questions feel free to drop me a PM...

As I've said, getting your foot in the door at OASC is the hardest bit, so work as hard as you can, get the grades and give yourself the best shot you can when you come to apply for selection in the next year or two. Good luck!
