The Dynalifter!

Ok, how many of us have really heard about it? I found out that the first one is being built about 40 minutes from here, and in a few weeks there is an Aeronca flyin which includes a tour of their facilities..:)

hmm, nobody has any thoughts on the subject?

Or on the fact that they are hoping to use it as another method of transporting freight instead of using a truck?

Sorry Jared. Think I read about this but I haven't got much idea of what it looks like or what makes it different from a conventional airship. Your links aren't much help as there's no proper photos & they don't go into details. Large 'advanced' cargo airships have been tried several times in recent years, all without success so far. I really can't see this one being any different. Lighter-than-air craft have always been vulnerable to weather & I think this could still suffer from that problem, especially near the ground in strong, gusty winds. An airship makes a good observation platform in ideal conditions but would be very vulnerable to attack from the ground.
