Mosquito Squadron Part 2

Postby beaky » Sun Jun 19, 2005 1:50 pm

Coming in at treetop level, the AA is getting pretty thick... I'm pretty sure this is not a model shot...

"Bombs away!!"

Doing some damage to this V1 site...

Suddenly the bombers are pounced on by Messerschmitts... but not what you'd expect-

they're Taifuns!! :D Oh well, at least they aren't AT6s with German markings...

They get their comeuppance, courtesy of the Mosquitos' nose guns...

Me108 to be precise. Don't think they ever had guns, but at least they're real vintage 'schmitts... :)

Those might not be Me 108s, they could be Nord 1000s or Nord 1002s.

Sadly, they could also be Me 108s completed as Nord 1000s and then converted to Nord 1002s in overhaul.

I understand that you would have to strip the plane down a fair bit to get it all sorted out...unless you got lucky and the firewall had been drilled for an Argus engine (giveaway of it's German origins).
