What's next for A-380?

Postby Wing Nut » Thu Apr 28, 2005 7:59 pm

I assume now that she has flown, they'll want to spend a bit crawling up her rear looking for flaws.  What is next for her though?  I'm not really sure of the process involved after first flight...

Lots of analysis of the data ........... then more and more flights expanding the flight envelope and beyond.  All the time they will be tuning the flight controls and refining the avionics and software.

High altitude tests. High heat tests, freezing cold tests. tests in high winds. You'll have the low speed takeoff test where it drags the tail along the runway. stopping tests on water logged runways. And so on.

Yes but who wants to spend millions of dollars on something that hasn't been tested and has its flaws figured out

Cheap maintenance means aircraft age faster which could ultimately cost millions of dollars and/or your airline
