Air Canada, long a "Prestige Customer" for Airbus, struck a blow to Airbus even as it prepares for the launch of the A380 Super Jumbo.
Air Canada has signed a deal with Boeing for a major fleet modernization effort, buying 18 Boeing 777s and 14 787s. The contract is valued at $6 Billion. The airline also has options on a further 18 777s and 46 787s.
Air Canada will continue to operate Airbus aircraft, primariy in the domestic, narrow body, market.
