First solo flight!

Postby MadDriver » Thu Apr 14, 2005 5:49 pm

I have to write and tell you all that I just flew my first solo flight today.  I just flew around Merrill Field doing touch and goes.  It was amazing!  My legs were shaking while taxing to the runway... but once I applied full power, I realized that I could do it and all the training kicked in.  My landings were the best that I have ever had.  I found that surprising after hearing some horror stories about first solo landings!  Now I gotta run and get those sunglasses that I've been needing for a while now!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You can now officially refer to yourself as a pilot! ;D

Two more lessons for me, and then I'm solo :D

Another success story! ;)

Isn't that an amazing feeling?  When I got home from my first solo I didn't even have to say anything and they just knew! lol  And yeah, you need the glasses... if anything just for those east/west runways.  I swear people do that on purpose.  (well, with regard to the sun being in your eyes)

And hey, good luck on your approaching solo Beef!
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

Well done old chap. Here's your new glasses. 8) :D

Oh & Good Luck Beefy. We seem to be doing rather well at the moment. Soon have enough pilots for our own air force. ;)

Congratulations!  :D :D

My first solo landings were definitely not my best, but they weren't too bad either.   :P ;D

P.S.  Good luck beef, look forward to at least three good landings soon, and many more after that. ;) ;)

I remember my first solo landings were some of my best but my CFI just didn't believe me (or he wouldn't let me think he did)...
