Universities offering Av. Degrees

Hey everyone! Well, the time has come for me to start lookin' for at colleges and universities.  :o And well, I can't seem to find many resources on what universities and colleges offer a degree in Professional Flight (or Professional Pilot as it is sometimes called). I have only found several Universities that offer this (Perdue, Southern Illinois, Bowling Green, Arizona State, Indiana State) and that's about it. So does anybody know of universities in the U.S. (particularly midwest) that have this program? Don't worry, I have considered the idea of majoring in something else so I can have a backup career in case this one doesn't "fly", so I am also looking at other majors, but this one would be preferable. I am extremely greatful for any help that anyone can give!

Can't give you any names...but believe me there I just asked the same question last week and they said do a search...and found that a local college down the road a little had a great flight school which I am going to be taking class at while I am a senior in high school so I can get an edge...I can bet you that there is over 100 fight schools in your local states

I attend Central Washington University and it has a really nice program.  Graduates walk out the door with over 300 hours TT, which includes Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, ME, and some KingAir simulator time.  hey also offer several non-flying aviation degrees to switch over to in case you cannot fly any longer.

EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY

Its in Daytona Beach, Fl

I am starting there this fall and majoring in Aeronautical Science (Professional Pilot)  This is one of the best universities that offers training in becoming an airline pilot.  They use 3 types of planes for actual flight training, Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Piper Arrow and Piper Seminal.   Look into it, there website is

If so take it from someone who has looked into and was going to goto college in America. Plan early. It can take weeks maybe months to get the visa, it takes a while to sort out the paperwork before hand. You have to be able to show you have the significant funds to pay for the course. And you have to show you are willing to return to Russia after you graduate. Also be prepaired to pay more than US students and local students as most colleges will charge you extra for being an international student. The college i am going to when my knee is better, is some $2000 extra a year over local residents.
Good luck in the process it is very tiring but trust me when you hear the words Visa approved they cant remove the smile for all the plastic surgery in the world:)

To proove your coming home. You cant, i couldnt, but dont say that, they just asked me are you intending to return after your visa runs out, i said if yes she asked why, i said all my family live here. That was an ok answer. I wouldnt get a scholarship because of the college i will be going to, it is a small one in Mississippi who cant afford to give them out to international students. Dont rely on them, if they say they give them out then apply and hope for the best, but Immigration wont count it right away. Getting the visa the interview and so on isnt hard, your interview will be about 3 minutes, but the wait 4 hours. Mine was. Its just alot of paperwork that you need to make sure you get right because they dont give you a chance to correct it at the embassy. I dont know if Russia is part of the Visa waiver program if not i dont know how tough it would be to get a re-issue, but i would imagine it shouldnt be too difficult.
