new simmer

new simmer

hi everyone

ive been simming now for about a month,
i have been wondering, whats the normal flap setting for take off on a DC10 and a 757(man i love them planes)>? ???

anyone know at all?

flaps 5....but I have seen flaps 20....and 1

Just to elaborate on what jr said, 5 flaps is the normal, all-purpose setting. You're normally not going to go below it, maybe a few notches up.

Flap settings can be determined by weight, elevation, temperature, runway length, etc. But mainly by weight.

The DC10 when fully loaded likes a little extra on the flaps. Not so much the 30 series. but the 10 and 40 series do.

Haven't seriously flown any of the FS heavies... isn't that info in the kneeboard checklist?
