thanks for replying.......

i have mixed answers here!? im confused and i need straigh answers!

is listenin to the atc for o'hare chicago illegal??!!?

some people say it isn't and some do!

No it isnt illegal. The feed for o'hare is done by one of the local airports. If it was illegal they would have been taken down. JFK atc feed is done by the guys in the tower itself, again if it was illegal they wouldnt put it up.

It's illegal to BROADCAST on any ATC freq (except from a licensed station, like an aircraft ), but you can listen all you want, as far as I know. The no-broadcast rule is easy to understand, but I can't see why it would be a crime to listen.  I'll check the FAR/AIM later and see if there's any mention of it...

This message is for everybody but mostly the 56K users
They make a radio that scans for aircraft and you can listen in on that aircraft.  Sporty Pilot Mag has one in there for about $50.00.  Thats just my .02 cents
