Air Corps.

I'm joining the Air Corps. (U.K thing ) soon (i'm checking it out tommorrow, lol. Well anyone have any information on what it is all about, i've been filled inn by one of my friends but if you guys have any links or anything please post them because i'd like to read up on it all  ;D.

Do you mean the Army Air Corps? If so, I'm sure CraigL can give you some details.

Um, yeah probably the Army Air Corps. Also known as the ATC Air Training Cod-fish or something lolol can't rememeber. I think it may be like an early part of the RAF.  ;D

The ATC is a fine organisation. At least it was when I joined it back in 1956.
From what I've seen it hasn't changed that much. From what I can make out it's a tad more casual but the cadets do a grand job organising car parking at air shows & suchlike. The biggest difference that they have female cadets now.

the AAC and ATC are two veerrrry differant things:) the ATC is for younger people and supposedly fun, i went once but found it rather boring. had to run 3 miles, bunch of drills and a couple of other things.
The AAC is a is a bunch of old guys trying to act younger than new recruits their home as explained in Dougs link is Middle Wallop, my birthplace/ long time home town. Great museum there if you get a chance to visit.

The ATC is what you make it, like many other similar organisations. All the opportunities are there if you join in & take advantage of them. It also gives you a great start if you're interested in joining the forces (RAF) but this is not compulsory.

I think alot of it had to do with me picking a bad day for activities, i went along with a friend when i was staying round his place for a weekend on a trip back to Andover. Your first impression of something like that is not made good by being told your going to run 3 miles, even moreso when your not dressed for it. Its not for everyone, but you gotta try it to know:)

Second ever CWO in the whole of the Sussex Wing. I was also the youngest Cadet Flight Sergeant in the country at one time. I had to get that one in.

Doug will do fine. To be honest I can't remember if a CWO was addressed as Sir. I somehow don't think so but it was a long time ago now.
