but its still ok for them to pat around my crotch? I think some people are a little to sensitive. These screeners generally dont like doing it as much as the person being patted down doesnt like having it done to them. sooner you assume the position the sooner you can get on with your journey

you are 100% correct. In my job I have to search peoples lunch boxes and purses when they come to work, and when they leave. making sure nobody is trying to bring a weapon, or steal product (as if they would put it in there purse anyway). The same people whine and complain everyday, and ask me if I really think they would steal something, or if they of all people would bring a gun, and these people actually believe that this was all my idea, and that I came up with the idea solely to aggrivate them. These screeners at airports are just doing their jobs, people really really shouldnt take it personally.

PS I discovered italics!

You wouldn't want to be doing that around here. Lunchbox has a different meaning in the UK. ;)

;D I couldn't resist it. :P No need to worry as I knew perfectly well what you mean by lunch box & so does everyone else. The other meaning is a recent slang term originating from the tabloid media. This seems to be where a lot of slang comes from these days.

Back on topic. It strikes me that you either do these body searches or you don't. Anyone wishing to smuggle anything now knows a convenient place to keep it without being detected. I don't see the problem if searches on females are carried out by a female. I can't imagine the average man objecting to being searched by a woman. If they change the system to stop causing offence to everyone that objects they might as well stop doing it completely. ::)

Having me searched by women would result in huge delays...the men would keep getting back in line!  ;D

Seriously, the searches should be uniform, thorough and universal. If you don't want a search you can decide to walk, drive, sail or take a bus. If you decide to fly you follow the rules in place.
