I heard Northwest wanted them to continue with it, but Boeing convinced them not to press ahead with the request, and told them to think about the 7E7, which would work out cheaper for them. Its going to be the end of an era. I truely think this is the most versatile passenger plane of all time, it can cross the atlantic or do short 30 minute flights, all at a profit where other planes would loose money. Its engines are unbelievably powerful, and i have had to do a takeoff in a piper warrior behind one, just sitting on the runway waiting you could feel it. Sad day indeed
