New Russian Ground attack plane?

Postby MarcoRamius » Fri Jul 09, 2004 12:55 pm

Does anyone know if a new plane was designed to replace the frogfoot?
And the sea will grant each man new hope, as sleep brings dreams of home.

It's just being upgraded, to what I believe is the Su-25T.

From FAS
enhanced version with more armour, improved sensors, and possibly a new gun and engines

SU-39... Su-25 with carrier hook option, more engine power and better laser targeting
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

So they've decided to give the Kermit another try at carriers?

In Flanker2 they fly these things from the Kuznetsov if needed. has a nice arrester hook onder the tail.

More info about the Admiral Kuznetsov...
Conventional powered carrier, with the same amount of AA weapons as a Nimitz and an AEGIS together. No catapult system but a ski-ramp

Aircraft:
Su-27K, MiG-29K.
Su-39 and Su-35 as option
Dumped projects: An-71, and the Yak AWACS that looks like a Greyhound copy

India got the 'Varyag', on the condition that they provided the aircraft.
