Lotus F1 line up for 2010.

Announced today as Trulli and Kovaleinen. Sensible on the face of it, and a good coup for one of the new teams to get two current F1 race winners, with one eye on the future with Heikki (if he performs), and a proven driver with "one lap pace" in Trulli.

No surprised with Fairuz Fauzy being reserve.

Well, they bought the rights to the name (or more accurately, two former Lotus F1 engineers did, and were then bought out), and at least are based in Norfolk, which in F1 terms is virtually abroad. Slightly ironic that the premises they are in were originally built for Toyota F1 in the early 1990s!

Proton and Lotus have had a partnership for a few years now.. there's your Malaysian connection.

On a side note, I grew up 3 miles from Hethel (Lotus' HQ in Norfolk). I spent many a 1970s/80s Sunday afternoon sitting on Grandad's shoulders watching over the hedgerows and fences as JPS & Camel F1 cars were being put through their paces by Messrs Andretti, De Angelis etc. If the wind was blowing in the right direction my Nan used to curse the F1 cars ruining the peace in her garden on a summer's day...

8-)

I wouldn't call it a partnership. I'd call it ownership! :)
