BMW to leave F1

Explains why they've been reluctant to give up on this years car for next.
This shakes the driver market up big time.
Kubica and Heidfeld are two drivers who'll be picked up in a heartbeat. I could see one taking Alonso's place at renault, and perhaps the other going to brawn in place of barrichello.

Breaking News as ever courtesy of Craig. I honestly don't know why I have James Allen, BBC F1 and ITV F1 in my favourites...

Poor show by BMW. Takeover a privateer team , fail miserably despite pouring billions into the attempt, and close down the lot. At least Toyota had the decency to form their own team, and Honda had the decency to put the operation up to tender.

Well done, worst thing to come out of Munich since... :-X

BMW have said they are not certain as to what will happen to sauber.
I cant see them being fully closed. FOTA will step in I'd imagine as several teams have had ties with them. Ferrari being one.

Mercedes had one or two too.

I wonder if any of the new teams for next year have been reaching for Peter Sauber's number.

It would be a shame to see the team close its doors. It would be nice to see them perhap do something simmilar to honda/brawn. Maybe put some resources into the team for next year, and sell them back to Sauber himself.
