First Suzuki, now Subaru...

Both have now pulled out of WRC. Oh dear.

Do Prodrive still operate the Subaru outfit? If so, I wonder if they could spare a bit of budget and buy Honda's F1 team. ;D

Yes they do.
And I think this actually has more to do with the FIA's decision to switch to the S2000 cars for I think 2010. Which would mean Subaru would have to design a completely new car, less than 2 years after already spending huge amounts on the new Impreza.
The economy is a good excuse to do it with few questions asked.

As a side thing Sebastian Loeb has said he'll quit if they went with the S2000 cars, lets see if he's a man of his word. To be fair though there is a chance he could end up in F1, he's a little old, but was very impressive in his test, red bull might take a look in 2010.

And Peugot and citroen are both rumored to be looking at buying the Honda team.

I think that about covers the latest news of anything slightly related to. Rallying, subaru, and Pro drive. ;D

How many times have we heard that before. McRae, Rossi, Loeb... I suspect Mateschitz Enterprises have more than enough good track drivers. I never see these tests as anything more than guaranteed publicity on the web and on the pages of Autosport.

That I'd love to see... Air suspension, a badge on the steering wheel that stays horizontal..even on full lock.. and, if my work van is anything to go by, bits of interior and bodywork falling off on the grid  ;D  ;D

As if by magic:

Prodrive Chief may turn to F1

Richards was axed by Honda when it took over BAR in 2004, and has not ruled out a takeover of the troubled F1 team.

Richards, a former Benetton boss, is thought to be one of the parties interested in taking over the Honda team - after the Japanese company pulled out of F1 because of financial reasons.
