Ferrari Enzo... To end a debate.

Ferrari Enzo... To end a debate.

Postby machineman9 » Sat Nov 08, 2008 5:53 pm

My friend and I, being lovers of vehicles and "fast things" are stuck on whether the Ferrari Enzo is a nice looking car or not.

Here are the current views on the car:

The design looks very clean, well shaped and structured. Looks racey without having lots of ugly bits strapped on.

Opposing that... It is trying to look like an F1 car and looks bad because it is too long. Sections such as intake and diffuser are too large. Just generally 'ugly'

What do you reckon?

Ferrari Enzo.

Love it or hate it?

looks wise, until I finally saw one in person at autosport, this year I wasn't a fan. Pictures made it look square and almost too computer designed, it also looked far to big.
I was very surprised when I saw it first time, As Steve might remember I actually at first said what the heck is that? Then immediatly I realised and I went from not being a fan to just loving it. It's small, very small, and up close you start to realise how much time and effort has gone into making it. Its got very subtle lines and nothing on it is pointless.
Yes there are a lot of F1 inspired designs on it. I believe Schumi had a large part to play in designing it. Just a quick look you'll see the wing mirrors are positioned straight off the F248 (why michael liked them like that I have no idea) Obviously the nose design as well, but its done with a purpose. The mirrors do help air flow, the nose creates downforce. It's just a brilliant piece of technology.

I see what you mean, but from pictures it just looks ghastly and vulgar. I agree that if I saw it it would probably look quite good, but that goes for most cars of this type. I know the F1 details help with aerodynamics and things, but it doesn't quite fit the design; it's like having features of a person on a cardboard box. It is a good piece of technology though.

It's supposed to look like the F-1 car because it is an homage to it sharing most of its technology and it's engine. An F-1 car for the road! ;D Although I do think the Masserati version (MC12) looks much better. ;)

Good or bad? Like or dislike would have been better. Good or bad, you would need to test drive it to answer that.
It is a nice looking car, however and I know there is NO comparison, the F40 does it more for me than the Enzo.

I was under the impression the Enzo was built to show off the latest technology of the time, which I believe it does rather well, looks not withstanding. To me the Bugatti Veyron isn't exactly a great looking car either, but I wouldn't turn one down. ;)
I guess it's all a matter of taste, and how "red" you blood is. ;D

Personally I don't like the design to much... it's to much in your face and not exactly elegant...

If I had the privalige to choose from the Ferrari catalogue, I'd go for a nice 599 GTB Fiorano. Still a sportscar, but more elegant an civilised...

Much like my super-dreamcar, the Aston Martin DB9... Performance isn't everything to me, looks count aswel...

When going for the more extreme looks, I like the new Lamborghini Gallardo... now there's a sharp design!  :o

It looks good by doesn't compare to the Aston product line or the Lambo Reventon!
