I was recently struck by observing a Corvette and a Mercedes M-class parked next to each other.
The roof of Corvette looks lower than the hood of M-class.
As for numbers, the roof height of Corvette is 125 cm. The roof height of M-class is 182 or 186 cm, depending on version.
Many coupes have roof lower than 120 cm. And many SUV-s are higher than 190 cm.
Could it be feasible to build a car where the ceiling over the driver is not roof, but a shelf in front of the passengers? So that there is a reasonable sized upper windscreen and forward view from the second seat row?
