I think i recall stefan johansson hitting a deer or somthing similar when he was at McLaren, made a right mess of a)the deer and b)the Mclarens front end.....
He did, at the Osterreichring (prior to its shortening to become the A1-ring) in 1987 IIRC. The worst of course was Tom Pryce's fatal accident when he collided with a marshal at the 1977 SA GP at the old Kyalami. Both Pryce and the marshal were killed instantly; the marshal could only be identified by a process of elimination.
You can find that one on YouTube..........................not for the faint hearted I may add.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
