could be hammonds last series with top gear. If rumors are true then he's off to the F1 in 2009 if the BBC dont agree to his pay rise demands.

Is that the same BBC who'd be paying an F1 salary?

As I've said before, Hammond and F1? No thanks.

It is, but they would probably see the cost as a better investment in a major sporting event program over top gear. I agree he needs to stay well away from the F1.

I can't wait to see what they've done with the new Skyline ( which you are supposed to call GT-R) A car made to cruise at 190MPH! There has been extensive coverage in the mags already so am curious!

Am Currently reading Hammond's book about the accident and afterwards... Brilliant read!

Everything I have read about the GT-R suggests cruising is what it does best. Round the track it's not the best car in the world, thanks to the long wheel base and rather heavy weight it struggles round tight corners in the hands of most people. Which couldn't be said about the skyline which thanks to having the computing power of 50 NASA's could get round a paperclip 5 times a second in the hands of even a bad driver ::)

I think weight has always been a Skyline/GT-R problem.

One of the things they said I think was that the GT-R made you feel like you could have done it faster... And would keep telling you that untill you couldn't anymore..... at which you would end up as a flaming fireball :D

A friend of mine had the old skyline, R-34....suffice to say that car got me hooked on japanese turbo type stuff - ive never been catapulted from going round a roundabout to screaming up a dual carriage way in that way since, despite later owning my own little bit of turbo machinery. Amazing car.

The new one may be impressive but i think i still prefer the older ones from what ive seen of it.

Or a day or so later you can download it from Finalgear. For the year due to trees I could get no Sat signal, I was a regular visitor. Not bad quality either. They also have a large archive of old shows too.
