Every team has the two engine maps, they arn't supposed to have any. The now well known start map which has to stay engaged for 90 seconds and basically delivers a small amount of power throughout the throttle pedal movement, then the race map. I am guessing the FIA decided that it would be impossible to stop this no matter what and have said they need to keep the start map in place for 90 seconds to discourage use. In the end they all use it and just live with less power for the first lap.

I've said for a while as far as Lewis is concerned that he'd struggle without an established team mate. He's simply not experienced enough yet to fix a setup if its not working and the adjustments needed are greater than a tweak of front wing. This is what Alonso did best for Mclaren and Lewis was able to reap the benifits. He's also not as good in traffic as some like to think. He's prone to mistakes through impatience and that was evident a couple of times today. But in both cases I wouldn't lose confidence in him yet, as he'll gain both with experience. I'm not entirely certain his start was all his fault, i've read that something reset itself or he didn't set something right in the car, and as such his anti stall kicked in which obviously shoves it back in neutral and you have to go through the procedure all over again, by which time everyone within 7 places or so is passed you.
Theres all this talk about drivers being the main component now and it being about skills but its not. The loss of traction control while its caused a few problems, in general has done nothing major and lap times are simmilar to last year. The biggest test will be next year when everything really does go back to being basic.

Seems that the start was his own fault:
Cut from ITV-F1 about half way down. Hamilton

Lewis revealed that his very slow start, which saw him fall from third to 10th, was his own mistake.

The results:

It's getting close.. but after 3 races Matt has 30 points.. which is the maximum score available in a SINGLE race.

Come on lads, somebody has to get a perfect 30 this season...

I must admit I was hoping Massa would spin out and pick up behind Kimi, but in reality looking over the selections we all would have ended up getting the same anyway:) ;D

An interesting race, as was said earlier it was very nice to see Kubica and the BMW's performing very well!

Not such a good race for Mr Hamilton, who knows whether Alonso was "brake testing"....

Apparently, Renault have circulated "telemetry" proof around the paddock that Alonso was at full throttle when he was hit by Lewis, and Lewis has also admitted that it was an accident.

I've PMed Mic with this question, but can anyone else help?

I'm sure Mic had a prediction in this race but it's not here anymore... can anyone else remember seeing it or am I going mad?  :P

Sadly last years problems mixed with the standard british tv/press attitude means, if Alonso sneezes he's done it to deliberatly infect Lewis with the flu.
I don't like the guy never have and now others are starting to see why. But he's a racer and brake testing in a race is something that's likely to end both guys race. Yes he's done it in practice before but thats a differant kettle of fish. Simple fact is the Renault is stupidly slow, the Mclaren is fast that was bound to happen when following closely.

Got to appreciate Lewis' honesty about the start. :)

Do the two Charlies get bonus points for consistency? 5 points in each race so far! ;D

I thought so, must be a bug in the forums...

I'll adjust the table if nobody has any objections
