The end of Mclaren?

It is not exactly a shock if it happens but the big question would be, what happens to the Mclaren name? would Mercedes drop it or perhaps just switch it to Mercedes Mclaren?
As much as I dislike Ron Dennis and co, I think it would be a travisty to lose the Mclaren name from the sport. Along with Ferrari and Williams, they are the only constants in the sport throughout the years.

I'm sure the McClaren name will stick, whether or not its before Mercedes

Seems to be becoming a regular feature that people post some sort of remark and comment then delete their account. Must be afraid of the response that they will get.

Anyway, back on subject, I agree with Craig, it would be a travisty to lose the name, they have been about since the Pontius was a pilot.

So what did McLaren do to Alonso? He was the one who through the teddies out of the pram when he realised he was in a team where he wasn't the boss - and would you want someone with the temprament of a fourteen year old girl driving a 200mph car? Obviously Mr Alonso was too young to remember 1988...

As for the McLaren name disappearing - I doubt it will - too much is associated with it, but maybe take a bit of a back seat to the Mercedes brand, as Sauber has with BMW. :)

To be fair it was Lewis who started the insults and backhanded comments at Monaco when he started complaining after the team wouldn't let him race to the finish. This was despite the fact he ignored them anyway, did push and several times by his own admission brushed the walls. All despite the fact he couldn't keep up with Fernando who wasn't exactly driving flat out. Then after that Fernando made his comments and it just ended up going back and forth culminating in Lewis ignoring the team orders again at hungary and Alonso blocking Lewis to get his lap back. They were as bad as each other this season, you expect a bit of immaturity from a rookie, it's part of the learning process, unfortunatly it seems Fernando forgot he's a double world champion and instead of setting an example he made himself look a bigger idiot by following Hamiltons lead.

As I said, Fernando obviously didn't remember McLaren of 1988/9! ;D
