Oh c'mon guys - I could've parked that car & been out by the time I'd farted around with the touch-screen telling the car where to park (whilst simultaneously holding up irate competent drivers in the road behind me).

Wouldn't anybody be ashamed to let people know that 'I can't drive, so my car has to park for me'?

Cheers,

TSC.

If you can't park, how did you pass your test? Such a system shouldn't be needed by anyone.

Exactly, if you cannot parallel park, it is time to take the bus.

It is for the new Lexus LS460 I believe. . .it parallel parks itself

although the intended spot needs to be 8 ft longer than the car inorder to work the function (it needs 4ft infront and 4ft behind).

LOL!!! That makes it even more comical, if your struggling to park in a space that's 8ft longer than your car, then you really should be thinking about buying a smaller car - or going by taxi ;D ;D

If I was an insurance company & you told me that you regularly used this self parking function, then I would  double your premium because of doubts over your driving ability LOL.

Cheers,

TSC.

So you actually need to driver around and find two free parking spaces next to each other. With that much space you could just driver directly in forwards........Mods we need a new smiley, one that is clutching it's sides, cry with laughter.

Ash, you should be ashamed if it did!! This isn't about technology (the technology is great) - it's about being such a bad driver that if you were to find a space 8ft longer than your car, you still wouldn't be able to park in it un-assisted, at least not without pedestrians pointing & laughing at you ;D ;D
