So close, yet so far. :'( Why's he retiring again?

well done to Renault and Alonso, you gotta give it to them, they deserve it after the way the Ferrari's came back.

Now, why is Alonso crying...

Delete as required:

1) He's just become the youngest back to back World Champ (not hard as last year he was the youngest champ)

2) He's just realisied that he leaving the championship winning team to go to McLaren! ;D

A good one to watch. Lets hope JB and Honda can perform like that next year too. :)

...and well said Martin Brundle at the end.

Was a really action-packed race, everyone on the circuit did well and Alonso, Massa and Schumacher got what they deserved - a 2nd world championship, a win on home turf and a memorable last race....this is a race I won't be forgetting in a while.

I guess he needs a rest. I hope Ferrari are preparing well. I can't see JT staying around forever, particularly if a new challenge comes along.

[quote]i'm waiting for the cockpit cam from fisi before final judgement. My question is, do the commentators actually pay attention to the pit stops? Michael took fuel on, surely someone in the box saw it. ::)

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a team owned and run by Brawn, Schumacher and Todt. They have the combined money to start it, with Schumi's name they have the name power to get sponsors, and with their history with Ferrari, theres the engines sorted. Add in all the talented young drivers without job's or testing they've got pleanty to pick from.
I cant see any of those three staying out long.

Hi Mushroom, i'm referancing the ITV crew in the UK, they were adament that he hadn't refueled. ::)

According to Radio 5 live, Schumi was fuelled almost to the brim when he changed his punctured tyre.
I'm gutted I missed the race, I was stuck in a traffic jam on the M11 in atrocious weather conditions and almost zero visibility.
F1 on the radio doesn't really work....
