Hopping up a motor

Postby turbo_skylane » Mon Aug 21, 2006 1:45 am

okay, this is not about an automobile.
Its about a ride on lawn mower.
(go ahead, laugh it up)
but its got a 5HP Briggs and Stratton.
Is there anything i can do to make it a bit faster,
or shoot fire from the exhasut so i burn the police officers face as he is chasing me on foot

I would check out a karting website or two.
However to be able to run a bit faster, you may want to replace the handles and skirt with carbon fiber. ;D ;D ;D

Hotter ignition, higher octane fuel, larger carburetor(if so equipped), less restrictive exhaust, blending and polishing of intake & exhaust ports, lighter valves, higher compression, performance camshaft...............

You know, the regular stuff........... ;D ;D ;D ;D

it is a two stroke. its a lawnmower.
I can put a quad engine, but i dont want to do extensive modifications to the mower. and cant really sacrafice myself or a quad motor.
I got it running today tho, it shots fire from the muffler like square thingy. i was thinking of boreing it out and maybe some performance pistons and a custom straight exhasuts.
I can get some jet fuel but i dont think it would run

Jet fuel is aviation diesel.

you don't get more power with a straight exhaust on a 2 stroke. . .you need an expansion chamber. ;)

I got the thing drive-ible today
its R.F.L. .....
(Really F :okin Loud)
Its not too fast, and I stalled it making a U-turn.
I think niturous would be nice, power on command.
Im looking at buying a 12hp air cleaner for it, it looks cool and is less restrictive, I think.
