Pardon my language but Bernie Ecclestone is an idiot.

He talks way too much

Nothing surprising there. Bernie always has been, always will be about the $$$$$$$. I also thought the reaction to last years USGP was a little over the top. The USGP has the capactity to seat the largest crowd, and yes Bernie is sometimes found talking out the wrong orrifice.

Definatly not the greatest time to say you dont need them, right before negotiations. ::)
I like the USGP, the track is by no means challenging, but the location is worth it in itself.
I have long been sick of moleman Bernie, and his oversized monkey, Max.
Sure the US fan base is not great, but it could be better if  they really went all out and marketed it to the folks there.

Hey Craig, you hit it on the head.....Marketing, Marketing, Marketing. It is almost non-existant over here. I live about 30 miles from the Speedway and probably won't even see a USGP television commercial until mid-week. They can seat, I think, 200,000 for that race. That alone should make it worth keeping on the schedule.
Also SpeedTV's F-1 coverage this year has been mostly crap, IMO, mostly shown late at night/early morning. One get's the feeling they don't care either. But then they have all those reruns of NASCAR shows that must be run in the good timeslots.
