What the devil is a reverse left and turn manouever?  Is it a 3-point turn type thing?  

On my driver test she told my I was a bit far from the kerb while parallel parking, but I was perfectly aligned with the car in front and behind.

Only specialty they asked was turning in a narrow street... which i managed to do while in 2nd gear  ;D

Anyway, all those Driving test things have a bad reputation in holland. Only out for your money and nothing else. CBR, which does the final exams, is even worse

the left reverse is a reversing manuver round a left corner from a Major road into a minor road or minor to minor, but never minor onto a major road. You have to do it without hitting the curbs while preferably keeping within a foot or two of the curb. The british test is generally not that tough but can be tricky in the case of Woodlouse if you have a car or pedestrian appear while doing a manuver like that.  you have to do a set amount, mine was the 3 point turn, emergency stop and reversing round the corner. Others include reverse or parrallel parking, bay parking. And about 35 to 50 minutes of general driving to show your competant on the roads. Alot of it depends on the examiner as to how tough the test is to pass. They can really get you for the smallest things. India has the easiest test, drive forward, turn left then right and pull up to a stop. Do that right you pass. Which is scary as its the most dangerous place in the world to drive.

I have to say that while the test wasn't all that hard it wasn't as easy as I was expecting and the amount of pressure you feel from that creepy little man sitting next to you with a clipboard really knocked me about for the first few minutes.

The other manuver I did was a baypark which was done in the test centre car park with out a hitch.

As for the reverse left hand turn, well, only in countries that drive on the left hand side of the road. Anyone else would know it as a reverse right hand manuver.

I didn't get nervous during my test at first, I was so focused it wasn't an issue, then about 20 minutes in my examiner started asking me questions about myself and thats when it really hit me and it was a case of just hoping to not screw up:)

I was absolutely fine intill I got into the car. Then he asked me a few questions which I fumbled through alright then I went and did the baypark and then it hit me and I stalled twice just trying to pull away from there.

So is it like backing into a driveway?  

Our test is essentially a drive round the neighborhood, feature a lane-change, double-stop(stop at corner, turn, then there is another hidden stop right there), 3-point turn, parallel parking and that's it.  Takes less than 5 minutes.  And I'm still the only person my age I know of that hsn't yet been in an accident.

true, its turn in the road as woody said, It was changed because few people could consistantly do it in 3 moves, as cars got bigger and roads smaller.

Indeed. It's a turn in the road using the forward and reverse gears only.

3 driving tests.
3 first time passes. (car, truck (heavy goods vehicle) and bus).
Several speciality tests passed first time too.

Well, following the differed success I had last friday I now have a brand new test booked for the 30th. Lets hope it won't be third time lucky.
