V8's break the v10 barrier

Well sort of.

Not surprising that it was Michael Schumacher to put in the first V8 time to beat the restricted V10 times. I'd imagine that will be the way to go next season. Its amazing how fast the V8 times are dropping.

V6's can rock a V10, sorry to say...you should be a little more specific on what you are talking about.

Pretty sure a Nissan Skyline Twin Turbo (over 1,000HP) will own many V10/V8's...

we are talking Formula 1 v8s/v10s that are making well in excess of 300 hp/l naturally aspirated.

If you checked out the link at the very least you would have seen. ::)
F1 engines these days throw out about 650bhp for V8's and the V10's unrestricted were topping 900bhp, add that to a car weighing around 600kg it would pretty much destroy those nissan's ;)

or even the 1000hp that Honda brought out for Suzuka in 2004...

In the most recent "proper" days of F1, there were (Ford) V8s, (Renault) V10s and Ferrari had their V12s...

since F1 cars fall under autos and its a sport that we have discussed for many years here, I think it'll continue on being discussed here. But thanks for the input.

This has been discussed here before.  Even though F-1 has wings (another well discussed topic in the past), it has 4 wheels and stays on the ground.CAR

Latest test results, I am a little concerned that Ferrari are still using the F2004 as a test platform, but you cant argue with the results at the moment. I am slightly curious as to why the Renaults V8 car is so slow.

hmm. . .I read that the average 2.4's were making about 750 bhp and BAR were making just under 1000 with the v10's last year

Quiet you with your so called "Scuderia Ferrari"!

I fart in your general direction. ;)
