Safe mode stereo

Postby ozzy72 » Sat Apr 24, 2004 7:41 am

A friend of mine has a Seat Toledo, and since going to the garage the other day the stereo is stuck in SAFE mode and won't accept its start-up code.
The mechanics are denying its anything to do with them (inevitably ::))! And I'm unable to find a fix on the net. Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like they disconnected the battery ..... and then put in the wrong code 3 times .... Their C**k up so they should replace the stereo.... If they wont then try contacting the manufacturer they should be able to give him some hints /tips.

I've been trying to find out on the Seat website but to no avail as its one of these built-in ones!
Do you think leaving it unhooked from the battery for a couple of hours might clear its memory?

Have you done a google on Seat ... I have come up with loads of pages .... just trawling through them to see if I find anything useful .... Alternatively try the VW sites... the Toledo is essencially the VW Passat with a different badge ... and if my memory serves me right from my Car hire days then the radio's are the same.

The car's (or radio's) manual should help,too.

The car manual is slightly less use than a chocolate oven glove ::) Of course Seat install their own stereos :P
