PMDG MD-11 for FSX - avionics

Postby Speed of flight » Thu Aug 02, 2012 2:15 pm

Hey all!
Small problem:
After FSX reinstall, and aircraft reinstall, and update, my PMDG MD-11 has a problem.
When I jump into the plane, no matter what panel state, it shows all the MFDs with blue Xs on the screen.
I thought that there would be an EICAS switch or button, or even an avionics power button, but no.
The blue Xs say to me that the avionics bus is powered, but avionics are off? Dunno.
Below the throttle quadrant, and the fuel cutoff and engine start switches, it looks like the panel below there is an EICAS or other kind of MFD mode selection switch panel, but is INOP. Maybe this is the problem?
Anybody have a solution to this kind of thing? :-?

Either you didn't align the IRU's or its in "This is illegal software" mode

Gosh, I hope its not the latter.
So I think while the IRU is alligning, it ought to still have a couple MFDs available for EICAS, but there is no EICAS button/switch either. In fact, today is the first time I've tried the cold and dark option with it. I may be just doing something wrong.
Maybe I should try reading the manual, instead of assuming I can just fire up this bird by myself...
In any event, I'll just keep trying to figure it out.

How long have you had it?  The first thing you should do is read the manual with the PMDG stuff.  Try youtube for help also.  However, if you didn't buy it, good luck trying to make it work.

Lots of variables in making it work properly.
For example, the default saved flight causes issues if saved with wrong aircraft, many others.
From what I have read, typically, the cockpit is inop altogether, and plenty of other issues if attained illegally.
That is just wrong to assume it is because of someone's fraudulent actions first.
Jeeze. This forum used to be friendly.

Just because its in "this is illegal software mode" doesn't mean it is illegal software. When I bought my superbug I wasn't running as an admin, and so I was greeted with a can of spam

It's something to do with manners. They seem to have died off in the 90s
