Best Airliner Available for FSX?

Postby Flying Mouse » Wed Aug 31, 2011 2:54 am

I am always buying props and decided I atleast want to buy one decent tube for FSX.

I really do not want to suffer buyers remorce pulling this move.

FPS (MOST important) and decent looks is my main concern, I do prefer a lite product with basic FMC.

1) IFly NGX - read some reports and FPS not too my liking. I can't be on the ground with single digit or low teen digits.

2) PMDG NGX/MD11 & 747 - too complex and FPS hungry.

3) Aerosoft Airbus X - I love the twin otter from Aerosoft but their Catalina still can't run with decent FPS on my rig. I am considering this product but am sceptical.

4) Quality Wing 757 - I read some good review on this package. Sounds like a winner.

5) Wilco - Don't like their products much, buggy & FPS hogs. Own the Embrear 170/190 packages and they sit on the shelf.

6) Overland Boeiing & Airbus packages - I heard they have nice exterior textures but not worth the money?

7) Captain Sim - Nice looks but FPS hogs?

8) Level D 767 - Heard great reports from this bird. Just a little aged.

Any input, I really want to buy a tube that I will be happy with.

Thanking helpers in advance.

The LevelD 767 is as complex as PMDG in terms of FMC programming but is really easy on FPS. The same can be said about CaptainSim although they aren't as in depth and a little buggy (I only have the 757, can't say about the others). I think, like you said, your best bet would be the QW 757.

I had QW and didn't like it so much. Felt sometimes like it was FPS hungry. I own iFly 737 and Level-D. I wouldn't suggest getting the iFly its FPS hungry...thankfully I have a maxed out gaming computer to run it...tried it on a not so gaming computer and it was all bad.  ;D

I would defiantly put my money into Level-D. The payware may seem old but still the best out there. Plane runs perfectly smooth...not hard to learn the instruments but VERY realistic. Price wise for any airliner there all gunna be the same but the best one on the market it by far the Level-D 767 no doubt. But its kinda considered a heavy, so its not terribly easy to get everything down as a 737 would but the manual is great, and if your a visual learner, tons of youtube videos for help.  ;)
