Anybody have the DreamFleet Dakota?

Postby Mr._Ryan » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:33 pm

I've been searching for a Cherokee 235 for FSX for ages and have never found one, so I'm giving up and looking for the next best thing. I've seen a lot of good reviews of the Dakota from DreamFleet, but at $35, I was just wondering if anyone here had it and recommends it. That's quite a penny for an add-on plane, but if it's a nice aircraft that I'll enjoy flying, it's worth it to me.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Not a Piper but I have the Dreamfleet A36 Bonanza for FS2004.

Have you looked at Carenado?  I've been very pleased with the Carenado Cherokee 180. They also have an Archer II, a T-tail Arrow IV, and a Saratoga.

Yeah, I have the Carenado Cherokee 180 which I think is pretty good, but I grew up flying a 235 and can't find one for the life of me, so I've decided to go with the Dakota. Looks like a really nice job.

Well I bought the plane last night. There were some install issues which were solved by disabling UAC in Vista, although I'd like to find a better solution than that at some point. As to the aircraft, WOW! Super job, lots of fun to fly. An absolute top of the line product, something I can see my self spending a lot of time flying.

I have the Dreamfleet Dakota. Wonderful plane! Highly recommendable.

Only problem is it is not compatible with Vista 64 bit or Win7 64 bit. I updated my OS some time ago and since then can't use it any more. Therefore, take into consideration if you are planning to update your system some time soon.

The web page says they are working on a patch for 64 bit OS, but it has been awhile since any update.

How does the Dreamfleet compare to Carenado's planes?  I'm using x64 OS so I guess they are not an option right now

Well, I've had the DreamFleet Dakota for a few weeks now, and I LOVE it! Superb rendering, excellent flight model, it's really a joy to fly. In answer to the above question, I have the Carenado Cherokee 180F, and the comparison isn't even close, it's the DreamFleet by a mile. Granted, the DreamFleet is twice the price, but it's worth it. I'm taking the Dream Dakota on a European Tour, just bought UTX Europe, too, and the combination is pretty awesome!
