So here's my problem

Postby Jersey Flyer » Sun Oct 04, 2009 12:19 am

I've purchased both the Eaglesoft and Wilco Citation X, and it is a sweet aircraft I must say  :D Now if I could only fly it, well thats a different story. The FMS is not a problem for me, as well as starting it up cold and dark, and the only thing that stands in my way of taking this bird up to the skies is this : Where is the auto throttle!?!? How does one fly this Jet Aircraft with out an auto throttle? Any explanations on to how exactly this aircraft is flown?

Might be a stupid question on my part but; did you read the manual?

Control the throttle yourself, by power-setting and airspeed.

Control the throttle yourself, by power-setting and airspeed.
Throttle in one hand, stick in the other plus needle, ball and airspeed.

You're not expecting to use an autothrottle system on the takeoff roll are you?  :-?

Even pilots flying the 747 and other large planes will use manual speed control quite often. Sure, the autothrottle can be nice in cruise, but at any other phase of flight, learn how to manage airspeed, altitude, etc manually.

yeah i checked out wilco's site and i finally found the key to it.

It just baffled me because this is the first jet aircraft i've had to fly that wasn't so enthusiastic with the a/t, thats all
