Does anyone know where to get recent nav data for the iFly 747 FMC, besides the site they recommend?

As far as I know, when the US government stopped releasing the nav data for free due to potential security concerns.......... the source of current FREE data disappeared from the web.

The folks at Navigraph bought a contract to access the data........mainly for real world use I think....... and are making it availabe at a VERY low cost to simmers.

Most of us simpit owners are well aware of this problem....because of the tend to strve for more and more realism.  It is just a "cost of doing business" for us.

To my knowledge that is the only low cost source now for current AIRACS for simming use.  PLUS you need to make sure that the data they have and you are going to download is set up in the format for the particular FMC that you are running (PMDG, iFLY, etc.).

The loss of the free data source was a HUGE blow to maintining total realism.......unless you are willing to pay for it.

best,

Thanks for the reply!

Like I mentioned, cost wasn't a factor, just needed to know what's out there!

Will do with the proper set up, I recall the FMC data for the iFly747 is the PMDG737 format I believe....I will ensure that it is correct!

I'm just waiting to upgrade my rig to something "bigger, better, faster"::)

Regards,

Vince
