FS2004 and ActiveSky 6.5

Postby JBaymore » Wed Sep 03, 2008 10:19 pm

I just installed Active Sky 6.5 into my fs2004 setup.

Wish I had done that LONG ago.

I am kicking myself for not doing this FAR sooner than I did.  ::)

I already have Flight Environment installed (fantastic), so I have not allowed ActiveSky to overwrite the graphics I use from FE.  That is an easy option to implement in Active Sky6.5.

The BIG change is in the weather engine and also the use of the cloud textures that already exist.

And the downloading of accurate timely weather information from multiple servers in Active Sky is great.  When I used the Jeppeson / Microsoft default online real world weather.... and I was also listening to ATC Live Chatter (live feed of real ATC) for my home airport (KBOS) the stuff the real world ATC were saying about the WX and the sim weather did not often match up.  NOW it does.

best,
