Should I or shouldn't I...

Postby an-225 » Fri Jun 15, 2007 9:20 pm

I'm thinking of purchasing a 'Mega Scenery' package for FSX, probably the Hawaii package. I'm just wondering whether its worth it or not - because I really cannot live without autogen. Or should I ditch Mega Scenery and buy Ultimate Terrain: USA or Fly Tampas TNCM...help appreciated!

Although I run FS2004 I would suggest getting Ultimate Terrain USA and Flytampa TNCM just because these packages are awesome! Mega Scenery, I can't give you feedback because I've never used them. I might in the near future though.

I got Megascenery NY for free with a PCPilot subscription extension.

Installed and flew it once and then uninstalled it.

For me autogen is CRUCIAL to the experience.

Oh Megascenery counteracts autogen?  I too think Autogen is important.

Thanks guys, I will never think of buying Mega Scenery again (unless they add auto-gen).  ;D I will probably buy TNCM now.  ;)

Fly Tampas TNCM is a tiny area of only a small island. Get Mega Scenery Hawaii... It covers a huge area and yes... it has some autogen.

Mega Scenery X hawaii also improves framerates.

Last I checked, The Fly Tampa TNCM package covers 3 Islands, making them to just about FSX standard... in FS9. The screenshots in the Payware forum speak for themselves

And if you ad the Aerosoft AES package to that airport (and others) I'd say it EASILY rivals FSX's animated airports and jetways ...and then some.

Just curious though, what is wrong with MegaScenery? I'm looking at the product over at Flight 1 and it looks pretty impressive. Is it not framerate friendly or something?

But is it the size of Oahu? Or do you just want graphics when your close to a airport?
