2005 traffic

Postby concordepilot » Mon Dec 25, 2006 11:11 am

I got Ultimate traffic 2005 for christmas along with lots of other sutff like a Sony Ericsson K3101 and the Saitek X52 kit but with my 2005 traffic I installed it from the manuel and it made my flight sim go all slow and lock up when I do most things. What can I do to sort the problem out?

O and I installed all the traffic should I only hjave the ones I need.

The UT will slow your computer down a bit, since there are more things going on, on screen.  Ultimate Traffic is a great program, but it will slow your computer down.  I had that and found the effects on my computer to be too much, but when i got a new gfx card the problem was solved.  If you want your traffic it might be better to either turn down other settings or uninstall UT and use Project AI which is free, and I found it easier on my framerates.

Ultimate Traffic sucks...The models are crap, they fly stupid...and they look downright terrible...I'd suggest making your own traffic...I did and I know it was worth it... 8-)

[rant] Ash, no offence,  I admire you for your time and effort into compiling your own traffic, but slagging off all other traffic packages just because you built your own is a bit harsh. Not many people can find the time, nor the sheer perseverance to find all the models, textures, routes, flightplans, then test them, make sure all of the flightplans they compiled are present in the sim etc. etc.

There are plenty of good quality AI packages out there, such as WoAI, PAI, UT, MyTraffic, that require 1 install, and thats it...

I've seen a couple of posts recently that have made me think this, please think about how much spare time or even knowledge about TTools people need to do such a thing, rather than putting them down because they can't find the time to put aside nearly an entire weekend to populate one part of thier flightsim world....

[/rant]

Sorry but I needed to say it.
No offence intended

Nope..No offence taken...I really do think PAI and Ultimate Traffic are crap...Heck, Ultimate Traffic uses the models from PAI...I personally like to gloat about my traffic because I've put alot of effort into it...I have owned/used both PAI and Ultimate Traffic...Where they do advertise oh so many flights, they forgot to mention anything about Southern America and Eastern Asia...Whenever I flew to Eastern Asia, I had a limited number of aircraft...1 or 2...

Yes, the traffic compiling did take some time, and I did not learn it all in one night...I scoured the internet for links...downloaded I don't know how GB's of worth of aircrafts, paints and such...I now have a proper sim with many different AI aircraft...I recently saw on A.net about a special Continental aircraft known as Peter Max...I quickly compiled a traffic file so that Peter Max flies to different destinations...but I did not note down where it would and when...Now, when I fly, I simply keep my eyes peeled for it...It's just as much a thrill to see it in real life like it is in FS9...

Cheers mate,
Ashar ;)
