Spitfire?

Postby F3Hadlow » Sat Nov 25, 2006 7:23 am

I'm looking at possibly purchasing a Spitfire for my sim and was wondering which one is the best. Currently I'm looking at the Real Air Spitfire but if anyone else has a better suggestion I'm all ears? :)

A bit of advice......Dont get the plane design one....I got it for myself a few weeks ago and it handles terribly.....but I don't know whether that was just a bug on my system.

IMHO the Plane Design one sucks, so I'd go for the RealAir or the WOP one ;)

IMHO, you suck...The Plane Design one is a dream to fly...Smooth gauges in the VC, great looking model...I'd say it's a near competitor to the RAS one...Also, PlaneDesign has the only modelled Spitfire Mk XVI for FS... ;)

REAL AIR!  I have the RAS spit and the WOP spit (also the JustFlight one) and nothing comes close to the Real Air spit.  The effects are amazing, it sounds great, RealView is awesome, the VC is unbelievable, it flies like a dream.

Well seeing as how the PD model has actually been tested by a real Spitfire pilot I think it tells you rather a lot!
Both the PD and RA models are brilliant.
To improve the handling of the PD one may I suggest you setup the fuel load so the fuselage and wing tanks have nothing in ::) Otherwise she is laterally unstable just like the real thing!

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

With all this sucking going on between  men, I thought I had logged into my gay cousins forums. I looked twice and all this sucking is really going on at the V. Pretty scary.

...well, I had the same thought as him, but thought it wasn't worth my time to type it out...

...not that I have a gay cousin, or a forum.

Handling developed with the ex Chief Test pilot of Rolls Royce, with over 200hrs on both Merlin and Griffon Spits, and the future Chief Test pilot of Virgin Galactic, another experience Spit pilot and current RNHF pilot.

Rubbish eh Mic - I think more of a "reality check". You also have to remember that real Spits don't have annoying spring centred control columns that blight the Flight Sim enthusiast...
